How Vending Machines Work

Vending machines offer a simple, quick way to gain a snack, hot drink vending and much more. A customer approaches a machine and inserts their money, which is read by the machine. The customer then chooses what they want to purchase and presses the corresponding buttons or keypad. The snack is dispensed along with any change the customer is owed.

Current Vending Machine Products

Numerous products are available for purchase through vending machines, and the item list is growing almost daily. Currently, the most popular vending machine products include snack items, candy, beverages, toys, hygiene items, lottery tickets, cigarettes, bubble gum, and coffee. There are numerous goods currently sold through vending machines with each machine owner’s imagination and machine capabilities being the limit.

Advantages of Vending Machines

Vending machines offer tremendous benefits for both the customer and owner. Customers benefit by having quick and easy access to products they need. They save valuable time by avoiding lines and cafeterias. Often times, vending machines are located where there is not space for a food and drink establishment. Customers benefit by having easy access to products they need without having to search out another location. Businesses and vending machine owners benefit from extra revenue brought in by owning a vending machine or having one on site at a business location.

Future of Vending

Vending machines of the future will include sleek designs, ease of use, and many more food and product options. Currently, a vending machine company is testing biometric vending machines that require a customer to tie a credit card to their thumbprint. Customers will use the machines by placing their thumbprint on the scanner, and the user’s credit card will automatically be charged. Another vending machine company is developing a machine that has a 46″ screen comparable to an iPhone touch screen. Customers will be able to check nutritional information before purchasing. No longer will vending machine owners not know what supply is left in the machines until they physically go check them. These vending machines will offer up-to-date supply information helping owners keep up with supply and demand. Vending machines of the future may offer items such as electronics, clothing, alcohol, luxury boutique items, books and magazines, and even bail bonds. They may even include retina scans as a method of purchase. As the vending machine industry continues to grow, so will the options and technology.

US Singles Chart:

1. Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg – California Gurls (last week – 2)

Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg put together a track that responds to Jay-Z’s Empire State Of Mind, adding an electropop tinge to rap and fusing the US’ two most fashionable and of the minute genres. A guaranteed hit, then, and so its proven. Download Katy Perry ringtones here.

2. Usher featuring Will.I.Am – OMG (last week – 1)

Autotuned and arena ready, Usher’s latest if perfectly suited for the world’s biggest sporting tournament. Sad, then, that the World Cup is making a minimal impact stateside. Still, the NBAs reaching the sharp end these days, and Usher’s tune won’t go down badly there, either, Download a taste of Usher for your phone, here.

3. B.o.B Featuring Eminem and Haley Williams – Airplanes (last week – 3)

Paramore’s religious front woman combines with the world’s most infamous rapper and an up and coming urban newcomer to produce one of the charts most unlikely fusions so far this year, one that’s going down a treat by all accounts. Airplanes sounds like B.o.B with a few random extras, but the big name guests are proof positive that he’s a respected member of the chart community these days.

4. Ke$ha – Your Love Is My Drug (last week – 4)

The second big single from Ke$ha’s breakthrough debut album ‘Animal’, which – while hardly a shocking chart development – has added a feisty, party-girl vibe to the top end of the chart. She’s certainly not the most subtle of singers, nor does she have the most breathtaking of voices, but her songs seem to resonate. Party on.

5. Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars – Billionaire (last week – 11)

In imagining that he might become a billionaire, and how that would change his life, Travie McCoy’s debut single has taken him one step closer to getting there. This is a breakthrough that looks like going far, and completes one of the most urban-looking singles charts of even this hip-hop dominated year. One to watch, we think, especially given the big rise.

US Albums Chart:

1. Jack Johnson – To The Sea (new entry)

Having already notched up a UK number one, Jack Johnson doubles up with a US number one in his first week. The man’s had an enviable life, starting as pro surfer and going on to become one of the most popular acoustic musicians of the last decade. To The Sea is typical Johnson, soulful and cleverly political. Great stuff.

2. Justin Bieber – My World 2.0 (last week – 3)

Up one once again for Bieber volume 2, an album that must me on more than a few young teenagers shelves now that it’s notched eleven weeks near the top of the notoriously flaky US album charts. Bieber’s got more enemies than friends by all accounts, but that won’t stop him. Grab Justin Bieber’s latest ringtones, here.

3. Glee The Music Volume 3: Showstoppers (last week – 1)

The most successful effort of the Glee series so far drops from the number one spot, but is still doing storming business for an album full of not overly unique cover songs. Still, it’s the series that sells this one, and we can’t say we’re hugely surprised with the way it’s gone.

4. Lady Antebellum – Need You Now (last week – 4)

There’s an argument at this point for Lady Antebellum being the biggest act of 2010. They’ve certainly given Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber a run for their money when it comes to chart position. Download Lady Antebellum ringtones here.

5. Usher – Raymond vs. Raymond (last week – 5)

Having told the world he delayed the release of Raymond vs. Raymond ‘because it’s s strong we want to get a proper backing behind it’, Usher’s lived up to his own hype with this one. It covers a vast array of Usher’s much-publicized private life, just in case you wanted to know about all the nasty stuff he gets up to… Get Usher ringtones here.

1. Shout For England featuring Dizzee Rascal and James Cordon – Shout (new entry) – SONG OF THE WEEK

World Cup fever hits the charts this week, with Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Shout For England’ going straight in at number one, and numerous other football-themed efforts making appearances further down the numbers, too. We wonder if things will fade a touch after England’s poor start, but given the level of their up and coming opponents, we reckon there’s a week or two left in this yet… Download Dizzee Rascal ringtones here.

2. Tinie Tempah featuring Labarinth – Frisky (new entry)

Tinie, apparently, is both small and frisky. This is only his second single, and goes in one place lower than his debut’s peak. Considering he was up against all the hype of the world cup, that’s no mean feat. This song is another party-focused effort, one that sees Tinie cover himself in alcohol fuelled, dance floor-tinged glory. And why not…

3.K’Naan – Wavin’ Flag (last week – 16)

Another World Cup themed effort, K’Naan’s track has seen a dramatic rise as Coca Cola’s choice of promotional track for the tournament. It’s already reached number one in an impressive three countries across Europe and scored highly in plenty of others. Never heard of him? He’s half Somali, half Canadian. Neither of whom, incidentally, are playing in the tournament.

4. David Guetta featuring Chris Willis – Gettin’ Over you (last week – 1)

Blasted out of its number one spot by the World Cup invasion, Guetta’s latest has done well, especially given that the popular remix has now disappeared into chart oblivion. Still, that effort – featuring Fergie – played a major roll in this old single’s reappearance. The original release dates back 9 months. Grab David Guetta ringtones here.

5. Eminem – Not Afraid (last week – 6)

Eminem seems to have been gone so long that it almost feels like he’s not a part of the music scene anymore. There’s always time for chainsaw swinging antics, though, and we’ll be seeing plenty of them from him on the festival scene this summer. Critics can’t make their minds up if ‘Not Afraid’ is a return to form or not. We think it’s great. Click here to download Eminem ringtones.

UK Albums Chart:

1. Christina Aguilera – Bionic (new entry)

As folks who are old enough to remember Christina’s sparkling early efforts like the 90s smash ‘Genie In A Bottle’, Xingtone have seen Aguilera go through more stages than most, plenty of them quite depressingly unsuccessful. Still, she seems back for good with this long overdue number one. Welcome back, Christina. Christina Aguilera ringtones up for grabs here.

2. Alicia Keys – The Element Of Freedom (last week -5)

Up three this week and still selling like hot cakes half a year after many in the music press dismissed Alicia’s latest effort as her worst so far, The Element of Freedom has won over the fans if not the critics. The fans, of course, know exactly what kind of subtle R&B stylings to expect. Smooth Alicia Keys ringtones on offer here.

3. Michael Buble – Crazy Love (last week – 2)

Down one for super-charged cover star Michael Buble with ‘Crazy Love’, on which he adds his own distinctive, jazzy stylings to another selection of cover tracks and home-made recordings. This might well make him the most popular cover artist of all time: stadium tours don’t lie! Download Michael Buble ringtones here.

4. Glee Cast – Glee The Music Volume 3, Showstoppers (last week – 3)

The first Glee album to maintain it’s chart position for more than just the first week, ’showstoppers’ notches a second week at number three, as the dramatic musical series heads towards its finale. Glee is here to stay, of course, but we’ll have to wait a little while for the next series to kick in. Meanwhile, there’s plenty of music from the show to get stuck in to.

5. Lady Gaga – The Fame (last week – 6)

We honestly though we might have seen the last of Lady Gaga’s 18 month old debut at this point, but it seems the public are still just as enamored as they were back in 2008, when this first rocked up on the charts. An incredible statistic that, and one for Gaga to… well, go Gaga for. No wonder there’s no hurry to reel out new material these days! Download Lady Gaga ringtones here.

US Singles Chart:

1. Usher featuring Will.I.Am – OMG (last week – 1)

Usher hangs in at number one for another week with the infectious OMG, another track that’s been critically savaged but gone down extremely well with the punters. Expect ample radio play throughout the summer, especially given the inclusion of Will.I.Am, perhaps the hottest collaborative property there is right now. Download a taste of Usher for your phone, here.

2. Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg – California Gurls (last week – 2)

Perry’s fashionable electro-pop tune seems a little like cash in, given the popularity of the genre and the lack of previous work from her in this area, but given the press’ fixation with Perry’s output, it was sure to do well. This is Perry’s response to Jay-Z’s smash hit ‘Empire State Of Mind’, and ‘unique’ as it’s a girl’s take on the California theme. We’re not convinced. Download Katy Perry ringtones here.

3. B.o.B Featuring Eminem and Haley Williams – Airplanes (last week – 2)

Down one for chart big-shot B.o.B, whose work now includes such an array of collaborative efforts not only with Eminem and Haley Williams (of Paramore fame), but also a host of other impressive, internationally known acts. There’s no going back from here: if he keeps up this form, B.o.B will be a big-name for a long time to come.

4. Ke$ha – Your Love Is My Drug (last week – 7)

Last week’s big smash party girl is back, shooting up the charts to number four this week. In the track, Ke$ha talks about being so madly in love with someone that she totally loses her mind, much like taking a drug. The album ‘Animal’ is a great market for Ke$ha’s success, having already sold a huge one million copies internationally. That’s some rise to fame.

5. Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris – Break Your Heart (last week – 4)

Down one for this piece of urban teamwork for Taio Cruz and Ludacris. The British star is far more popular stateside than back home, and will be looking to develop his career in the bigger American market in the future. Given that his style is far more suited to that market, Cruz can expect to go far, though his shows still go down a storm back in the UK. Down on this week.

US Albums Chart:

1. Glee The Music Volume 3: Showstoppers (last week – 1)

Dramatic TV series Glee is coming into the final straight of the highly popular first series right now, and this album offers the perfect taster. A Lively collection of covers from the actors offers a great taste of what the show is all about, and is selling even better than the first two albums. Expect to recognize plenty of the tracks included here.

2. Stone Temple Pilots – Stone Temple Pilots (new entry)

Reformed rockers Stone Temple Pilots are back, having spent the best part of the last few years performing as parts of a selection of other popular bands. Having completed a whopping 71 date reunion tour, this is the band’s first recorded effort since then, and the fans are crawling all over it.

3. Justin Bieber – My World 2.0 (last week – 4)

Starlet Justin Bieber has more detractors than fans, but that comes with the territory for many pop stars. My World 2.0 is now in its tenth week on the charts and still selling like hot cakes. We expect it do so for some time in the future, too. Grab Justin Bieber’s latest ringtones, here.

4. Lady Antebellum – Need You Now (last week – 6)

Country music’s biggest stars traditionally only have the shortest of stays on the US charts, but Lady Antebellum have proven a highly successful exception, re-entering the top five this week in their 18th week on the charts. This is their most successful effort to date by a country mile, and hasn’t let up much in terms of sales over the past five months. Download Lady Antebellum ringtones here.

5. Usher – Raymond vs. Raymond (last week –

Usher’s concept album was a massive hit with the critics when it first appeared nearly three months ago, incorporating all kind of interesting twists on his own life and controversial recent experiences. It’s certainly different, avoiding the traditionally un-inspiring concepts of bling and violence in urban music, and all the better for it. Get Usher ringtones here.

1. David Guetta – Gettin’ Over You (new entry) – SONG OF THE WEEK!

David’s third UK number one comes courtesy of a remix of his earlier song ‘gettin Over’, and features the likes of Fergie, Will.I.Am and LMFAO. Exploring Guetta’s experience of falling for a girl and being left behind, he explains that the concept of the track is that he parties like there’s no tomorrow until the girl comes back to him. No harm in trying, David… Click here to download David Guetta ringtones.

2. B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars – Nothin On You (last week – 2)

A third week on the chart and a third week in the top two for B.o.B’s latest, though his other major recent single has now slipped down all the way to number 22 after they both occupied the top five for a couple of weeks. The urban world’s newest star originally wrote this track for Lupe Fiasco. His loss is B.o.B’s gain, it seems!

3. Jason DeRulo – Ridin Solo (last week – 4)

Jason celebrates his latest break up in the way only an R&B star knows how. In fact, he seems quite inordinately happy about his new single status, and clearly he’s not the only one: this track’s back up one and is going heavy on the radio play. Perhaps DeRulo’s break up was the best thing to happen to his career so far… Jason DeRulo ringtones up for grabs here.

4. Dizzee Rascal – Dirtee Disco (last week – 1)

Last week’s number one takes a dramatic tumble on this week’s charts, with bonkers rapper Dizzee disappearing into his own disco, during which the rapper outs the traditional old-wives saying ‘If You Can’t Say Anything Nice…’. It marked the singers fourth – and most short lived – Uk number one single.

5. Aggro Santos featuring Kimberly Wyatt – Candy (last week –

Back up to it’s peak position at five in the singles charts, Aggro Santos is making a mark in the UK as well as back in his native Brazil these days. It also marks the return to the charts of former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, who – like almost every one-time member of that band – is now persuing her own career.

UK Albums Chart:

1. Jack Johnson – To The Sea (new entry)

Can there be a better lifestyle than professional surfer or professional singer> Jack Johnson’s certainly had it good, being wildly successful in both fields, and returns from his more off the wall lates offerings with a more beach-worthy, summer-in-Thailand style new album. ‘To The Sea’ will please fans and surfers alike, and keep Jack selling out those tours with quite incredible demand. Surfs up, Jack Johnson ringtones here.

2. Michael Buble – Crazy Love (last week – 2)

A non-mover for arguably the world’s most popular cover star. Michael’s success comes in large part from his impressive ability to twist other people’s music into a pop-worthy treat and spin it in his own way. He’s selling out stadiums these days, so we can expect to see him selling copies by the dozen for a good while yet. Download Michael Buble ringtones here.

4. Pendulum – Immersion (last week – 1)

Down three for the band still known as the best selling Drum and Bass act of all time, though their rockier direction – a progressive development over their last few albums – is arguably a better representation of what the band are really like. Immersion is a far cry from early favorite ‘Hold Your Colour’, but still every bit as riotous as you’ll have come to expect. Get some slamming Pendulum ringtones here.

5. Alicia Keys – The Element Of Freedom (last week -6)

The album many had tipped as Alicia’s first not to make number one eventually did it, and in some style, too. After 25 weeks in the charts it’s still hanging around, and The Element Of Freedom can now be considered one of her biggest successes. A slow builder, if you will. Smooth Alicia Keys ringtones on offer here.

US Singles Chart:

1. Usher featuring Will.I.Am – OMG (last week – 1)

A second consecutive week at number one for Usher and Will.I.Am’s dance-floor filling, autotuned beast of a track OMG. We can probably expect to be hearing this through our stereos until at least the height of summer, and it does have a certain lively beach vibe to it, so why not! Download a taste of Usher for your phone, here.

2. B.o.B Featuring Eminem and Haley Williams – Airplanes (last week – 2) – SONG OF THE WEEK!

Up yet another place for B.o.B’s next single, which in some ways is a status effort, including two of the biggest names in music right now being a great demonstration of just how seriously the rest of the world is taking our newest rap starlet. B.o.B really has come from nowhere, and given the success of his first two singles, he’s here to stay.

3. Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg – California Gurls (last week – 2)

She might be better known in the UK for her relationship with a certain well-known and highly controversial comedian then her music, but Katy Perry’s making quite a mark stateside. ‘California Gurls’ features a legendary rapper and sounds like a classic summer-time tune. The countdown to the holidays has begun! Can’t have it all! Download Katy Perry ringtones here.

4. Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris – Break Your Heart (last week – 5)

Up one for arguably Britain’s biggest urban success across the pond these days, Taio Cruz is another one who goes down better in the US than he does in the UK. Ludacris is sure to have added to his street cred on this particular track, not that he was lacking credibility in the first place…

5. B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars – Nothin’ On You (last week – 4)

A second single in the top five for the second week in a row for B.o.B, which considering he’s only released two singles of any note in his entire career is a most impressive achievement. It’s not long until his third effort comes along, though this track will have to outdo itself to hang around long enough to mark three in the top five…

US Albums Chart:

1. Glee The Music Volume 3: Showstoppers (new entry)

Another round of melodramatic covers from what’s fast becoming the most popular show on TV. It might be an album for the youngsters (there’s nothing here that everyone over twenty will probably have heard before, and it doesn’t touch the originals), but it could fit in well if you’re trying to please young and old at a party…

2. The Rolling Stones – Exile On Main Street (new entry)

Remake of the classic Rolling Stones album, still raved about by music fans and critic alike all these years later. This remastering does tighten the album up around the edges, which may not do a whole lot for the more committed, ragged fans of the band’s shambolic style, but there’s loads and loads here to love. Click here to get hold of some classic Rolling Stones ringtones.

3. The Black Keys – Brothers (new entry)

Sixth album from the blues brothers, who mark their highest entry on the charts to date. Brothers has sold an impressive 73,000 copies in only its opening week, and while it might be a temporary sojourn in the top five, The Black Keys will count this as a significant commercial success.

4. Justin Bieber – My World 2.0 (last week – 1)

Bieber’s off the top again, but don’t be surprised if the child-like star – who half of america already seems to be highly, highly obsessed with – is around for a lot longer. This is cheesy but catchy, exactly what you’d expect from an accessible, big-selling pop album really. You’ll either love it or loath it. Grab Justin Bieber’s latest ringtones, here.

5. Nas And Damian Marley – Distant Relatives (new entry)

Bob’s son and his rapper friend collaborate to produce an album on Africa, as the multi-faceted title suggests. This has taken two years to produce and sold an impressive 57,000 copies this week, just enough to edge inside the top five. Damian may never match his dad’s success, but he’s a well established name in his own right these days.

1. Dizzee Rascal – Dirtee Disco (new entry) – SONG OF THE WEEK!

Straight in at number one for Dizzee with 70s style dance floor track Dirtee Disco, in which he raps about being a robot. The track samples 70s pop and is taken from his 4th album, though it only features on ‘Tongue N’ Cheek’ as a hidden bonus track available on the deluxe edition, a fact that’s bound to get collectors in on the act with this one. Click here to download Dizzee Rascal’s ringtonehits.

2. B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars – Nothin On You (last week – 1)

B.o.B’s assault on the UK chart continues, with ‘Nothin’ On You’ down on this week amongst and urban dominated chart. B.o.B was never expected to do quite as well across the pond as in his native US, but early signs are good for the lively lyrical star, despite being pipped by hometown hero Dizzee this week.

3. Iyaz – Solo (new entry)

Is ‘Solo’ a theme for this summer? If this week’s rap and hip-hop infused chart is anything to go by, we’d guess that it probably is. The second single from yet to be release album ‘Replay’, ‘Solo cements the British Virgin Island’s biggest star as a hip-hop mainstay for 2010.

4. Jason DeRulo – Ridin Solo (last week – 3)

Down one for autotune loving Jason, who marks his third consecutive single to enter the top three in the UK charts. Ridin Solo depicts Jason’s break up with his girlfriend, but is more of a happy track than a depressing one, exploring the stars ‘options following the break up and focusing on the clubbing lifestyle he’s waiting to explore. We didn’t expect him to wait to move on…

5. Eminem – Not Afraid (new entry)

The man who destroyed many a rap stereotype on his way to becoming a movie star and one of the world’s best known rebels is back after taking a back seat for the last few. Detroit’s biggest star will be hitting the festival circuit this year, no doubt introducing a whole new audience to festivals along the way, and ‘Not Afraid’ is just the intro he needs to get him off on the right foot. Click here to download Eminem’s ringtone highlights.

UK Albums Chart:

1. Pendulum – Immersion (new entry)

Once hailed as the biggest Drum and Bass band of all time, these days energetic dance stars Pendulum have taken on a few more of their metal-head roots, and no longer produce the kind of bass-driven dance smashes that bought them fame in the first place. Still, Immersion is a new take on a band who have always been something other than what their public image suggests, and perhaps a more honest album for it. Well worth a listen. Click here to download Pendulum ringtone D&B smashes.

2. Michael Buble – Crazy Love (last week – 19)

Whether you see him as a charismatic super star or the world’s most successful cover artist, there’s no doubting one thing: Michael Buble is here to stay. Most recent album ‘Crazy Love’ has been hanging around the top of the charts for months, but sees a 17 place rise this week to notch the number two position again. Not bad going. Download Michael Buble ringtones here.

3. Glee Cast – Glee The Music Volume 3, Showstoppers (new entry)

The latest in a long line of successful soundtracks accompanying the cult Glee TV show, volume three (’Showstoppers’) features the cast covering the likes of the Beatles, Olivia Newton John, U2, Lionel Richie and Aerosmith. Well, the kids have to be introduced to the classics somehow…

4. Katie Melua – The House (new entry)

Melua’s fourth album is her first without her traditional producer, and continues in much the same chilled out yet enticing vein of jazz music blended with tuneful, hook ridden pop. ‘The House’ is unlikely to become as big as her early material, but melua does successfully fuse plenty in the way of funky vocals alongside stand out singles like ‘the Flood’.

5. The Rolling Stones – Exile On Main Street (last week -1)

The re-mastered edition of the infamous and unforgettable smash album ‘Exile On Main Street’ has proved a touch controversial due to the nature of the remaster, but remains one of the most recognizable and sought after albums of all time. If you need an introduction to the Rolling Stones, firstly you should be ashamed of yourself, and secondly, get out and buy this one. Click here for some old school Rolling Stones ringtones.

US Singles Chart:

1. Usher featuring Will.I.Am – OMG (last week – 2)

Rammed full of autotune but with a club ready vibe, Usher’s latest hit is back at number one this week, no doubt benefiting from the impressive array of radio play and DJ loving it’s been getting over the past few weeks. Download a taste of Usher for your phone, here.

2. Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg – Califronia Gurls (new entry)

An answer to Jay Z’s notorious ‘Empire State Of Mind’, California Gurls is the first single from Katy Perry’s third album, and is resplendent with hefty house and electronic influences, making it arguably the most fashionably constructed track of the year so far. The lyrics, sadly, are a touch less impressive. Can’t have it all! Download Katy Perry ringtones here.

3. B.o.B Featuring Eminem and Haley Williams – Airplanes (last week – 5)

Up two places for the second consecutive week for an artist whose popularity has soared to such an extent this year that he’s almost unrecognisable. The level of popularity probably has a lot to do with why Eminem and Haley Williams both feature on this track, which is his first of two in the top five.

4. B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars – Nothin’ On You (last week – 4)

And his second effort is only one place lower, knocked off third position by B.o.B’s newer single. Nothin’ On You was the breakthrough track, and this marks 16 weeks on the chart for the single. Impressive sales considering the follow up’s already going strong.

5. Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris – Break Your Heart (last week – 4)

Taio Cruz probably fits the lyrics of this song quite well: there’s a guy whose good natured but has no intention of settling down. Said guy goes through numerous women in the course of a bit of fun, and ends up breaking a few hearts along the way. He doesn’t mean to, that’s just how it happens. At least that we he says…

US Albums Chart:

1. Justin Bieber – My World 2.0 (last week – 4)

Write Justin Bieber off, and you can guarantee his army of young fans will have swelled some more by the following week. This young starlet is ignored by most, but idolized by enough people to keep him firmly in the chart reckoning for a long, long time to come. Grab Justin Bieber’s latest ringtones, here.

2. Lady Antebellum – Need You Now (last week – 2)

It seems like Lady Antebellum have been around for a whole lot longer than the 16 weeks they’ve managed on the charts so far, perhaps because their brand of country is so unfamiliar when it comes to sustained periods at the top of the album charts. Fair play to the Tennessee stars, they’ do a great job of making country a little different. Grab some Lady Antebellum ringtones here.

3. The National – High Violet (new entry)

The National have strong similarities to Interpol, and have stormed onto the scene as the latest indie darlings in a long line of must-see bands. Fashionable as they may be, there’s no doubting The National’s credentials, which have everyone from top radio DJs to music critics raving. Watch this space.

4. AC/DC – Iron Man 2 Soundtrack (last week –

By all accounts the film’s a bit of a special effects fest, lacking any real depth. The same certainly can’t be said for Iron Man’s music, which is created in its entirety over the career of hard rockers AC/DC, introducing an entire new generation to tracks like the pounding ‘For Those About To Rock’. We salute them. Download AC/DC ringtones here.

5. The Dead Weather – Sea Of Cowards (new entry)

Jack White’s latest in a long line of solo projects was always going to sell, and The Dead Weather have done just that. ‘Sea of Cowards’ is a reference to the Internet, and the way it allows people to leave abusive comments without any way of being tracked down.

1. B.o.B featuring Bruno Mars – Nothin On You (new entry) – SONG OF THE WEEK!

Former US number one B.o.B slipped down the American chart with his first single and registered an impressive second this week. The Atalanta rapper’s progress has spread across the pond, too, with this early hit notching an extremely quick number one. Those in the know had B.o.B down as one to watch as far back as 2008; expect far more public recognition from now on.

2. Jason DeRulo – Ridin Solo (last week – 2)

Having originally sampled The Verve’s smash song ‘Bittersweet Symphony’, DeRulo was denied permission to use the track, and instead has had to settle for the strange brands of bleepy electronica that features on the version he’s released. A shame, given the poignant nature of The Verve’s effort, but this is still a catchy dance-floor track.

3. Roll Deep – Good Times (last week – 1)

A grimy, down and dirty urban smash from London’s new grime stars, Roll Deep have dropped off number one this week, and certainly edge into the lyrically cheesy in this track (note the excessive oh ohs and the bad rhyming), but they do the job nonetheless. Good times is undeniably catchy.

4. Alexandra Burke featuring Pitbull – All Night Long (last week –

Formed television star Alexandra Burke is that rare thing away from competition months: a continued TV talent show star. Burke’s brand of R&B is as strong as ever here, with Pitbull overlaying his own entertaining vocals and the strangely cool (given her past) Burke in top form.

5. Edward Maya featuring Vika Jugalina – Stereo Love (last week – 4)

Having become a massive dance-floor smash across Europe as far back as six months ago, Edward Maya has finally made his impact in the UK. Stereo Love is a track that’s looking likely to become a ‘song of the summer’ even this early, with clubs going mad for the beats. Might as well get ready for your summer holiday vibe early…

UK Albums Chart:

1. The Rolling Stones – Exile On Main Street (new entry)

The Rolling Stone’s are arguably the only band that provide a serious rivalry to the Beatles, both in terms of overall influence and popularity and in terms of competing on the charts at the time. The Beatles, of course, remade their albums last year, and The Rolling Stones have remastered the infamous Exile On Main Street to release this year. If you don’t know it, you should. Click here for some old school Rolling Stones ringtones.

2. Faithless – The Dance (new entry)

Faithless are true festival favorites, the kind of band you spend all summer standing in fields and eating overpriced food waiting to see. The Dance – their 6th studio album – sees the poignant two-piece bring Dido back into the frame on two tracks. It’s probably not their best, but as always Faithless are well worth a listen. Click here to download Faithless ringtones.

3. Plan B – The Defamation of Strickland Banks (last week – 2)

Down one in chart position but up yet more in terms of critical acclaim, The Defamation of Strickland Banks is an early contender for album of the year, if only for the way it completely changes Plan B’s career trajectory, yet has done no damage at all to his sales. We can only respect that.

4. The Baseballs – Strike (new entry)

Proof positive that modern day German rock bands can have an influence internationally. The Baseballs come from Berlin, and perform rock and roll covers of major chart smashes in a predictable yet entertaining way. Strike is their debut album, and has already proved a big hit across the continent, including scoring several number ones.

5. Lady Gaga – Fame (last week – 4)

Whilst Lady Gaga’s remix album has disappeared off the top end of the charts a mere week after release, the original is still hanging around after 71 weeks. Testament to the power of the New Yorker’s infectious brand of pop, we’d argue. Others, even working with the original source material, just can’t quire reproduce. You’ll find plenty of The Fame ringtones here.

1. Roll Deep – Good Times (last week – 1)

Roll Deep seemed to come out of nowhere to clinch last week’s number one, and they’ve held on to it this week too, amidst and ever increasing volume of nationawide airplay and what seems like the support of half of London. One singles does not a superstar make, but these guys will be more than a little happy with this giant leap.

2. Jason DeRulo – Ridin Solo (last week – 11) – SONG OF THE WEEK!

A big rise for Jason DeRulo, who seems to overloaded with autotuned, everready goodness that he might well turn out to be a permanent resident on the UK singles charts. ”Ridin Solo’ has been on the charts 11 weeks now, and has proven – like many of his other tracks – to be a slow burner. The number two position marks it’s peak so far.

3. Usher featuring Will.I.Am – OMG (last week – 2)

Another spurt of autotuned, dance-floor ready goodness comes from Usher,. featuring Black Eyed Peas every-busy hip-hop star. Will.I.Am lights up this track, though Usher will take the plaudits, with this song marking him as the first artist to get a number one in three consecutive decades (including the 10s), a sure sign of his impressive popularity these days. You can download Usher’s entire past in Usher Ringtone form, here.

4. Edward Maya featuring Vika Jugalina – Stereo Love (new entry)

A huge star in Romania, Edward Maya built his international house and techno following through the Internet, grabbing in excess of 40 million YouTube views of this particular song in just 9 months. It’s already proved a huge hit across Europe, with the UK a little slow to get in the act – this song peaked elsewhere at the end of last year. It’s sure to make you’re hips move.

5. Aggro Santos feat. Kimberly Wyatt – Candy (last week – 5)

Produced by essential dance producer Rob Orton and featuring a former Pussycat Doll, British-Brazilian starlet Aggro Santos clearly went all out to grab a huge smash with his first ever single. Peaking inside the top five – and staying there for a second week – is no mean feat for a debut effort like this. We’re eagerly awaiting the follow up ‘Saint Or Sinner’.

UK Albums Chart:

1. Keane – Night Train (new entry)

A fourth consecutive number one for soft rockers Keane, with the EP Night Train ghetting critically slated in all the trendy indie magazines, but selling by the bucketlaod nonetheless. This effort is only 30 minutes or so long, and features the single ‘Stop For A Minute‘, as well as seven other fresh tracks from the baby-faced stars. Download keane ringtones here.

2. Plan B – The Defamation of Strickland Banks (last week – 2)

We wouldnt be surprised to see this particular effort hang around teh album charts for some time, with Plan B’s change of musical direction going down an absolute storm with… well, pretty much everyone. This is a subtle and enticing piece of angry guitar music that explores the depths of Plan B’s psyche in a way few could have predicted. Give it a whirl.

3. Lady Gaga – The Remix (new entry)

Not content with practically owning the UK charts for the past few months with her straight up album, Lady Gaga’s back to wow us with a remix effort, too. This one is a touch disappointing in that many of the songs appear numerous times in different guises, yet if you’re a big fan, this does twist the tracks into true club dance floor fillers, rather than pre going out pop.

4. Lady Gaga – Fame (last week – 5)

No, this isn’t a mistake, Gaga really does occupy the 3rd and fourth position, amazing given this particular effort came out 70 weeks ago, which makes it the album equivalent of that Bryan Adams effort way back when. Haven’t heard it yet? You must be living under a rock… You’ll find plenty of The Fame ringtones here.

5. The National – High Violet (new entry)

Darlings of the indie underground this week, The National take on a similar sound to the higihly critically acclaimed Interpol, and are not even slightly short of rave reviews for this effort. As an up and coming name, this band has such an undergruond following that their alt-hit scheme can hardly fail.Download The National ringtones here.
