What Personal Information About Users Does FreshNotes Gather?
The information we learn from users helps us personalize and continually improve your experience. Here are the types of information we gather:
- Information You Give Us: We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. Click here to see examples of what we collect. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as customizing the site for you, improving the site, responding to your requests, and communicating with you.
- Automatic Information: We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. What About Cookies?
- Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide features, such as personalization.
- The "help" function on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. However, cookies allow you to take full advantage of some of FreshNotes's features, and we recommend that you leave them turned on.
Does FreshNotes Share the Information It Receives?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We share customer information only as described below. In such circumstances, we limit the information we provide to the information necessary to perform the function or provide the service for which it is shared. These third parties are not permitted to use the personal information which is provided by us for any purposes other than as authorized by FreshNotes, and these third parties are required to keep the information confidential.
- Use of Third Party Service Providers: We may, from time-to-time, employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include sending e-mail and analyzing data. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.
- Business Relationships with Third Parties We Do Not Control: We work closely with some third parties. In some cases, we will include offerings from these businesses on FreshNotes.com. In other cases, we may include joint offerings from FreshNotes and these businesses on FreshNotes.com. In these cases, we may share customer information related to these types of transactions with that third party.
- Business Transfers: As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy companies or business units. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy (unless, of course, the customer consents otherwise). - Protection of FreshNotes and Others: We release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of FreshNotes, our users, or others. Obviously, however, this does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from customers for commercial purposes in violation of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Policy.
- With Your Consent: Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
Children
FreshNotes.com is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. FreshNotes does not knowingly collect or store information of children younger than 13. If you are under 13, you may not submit information about yourself to FreshNotes.
California Privacy Rights
Under California law, if you are a resident of California, you may make a written request to FreshNotes about how we have shared your personal information during the prior calendar year with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. In response to your written request, FreshNotes is allowed to, instead, provide you with a cost-free means to opt-out of such sharing and FreshNotes has chosen to do so.
