UK Ringtone Chart:16/05/2010

1. Roll Deep – Good Times (last week – 1)

Roll Deep seemed to come out of nowhere to clinch last week’s number one, and they’ve held on to it this week too, amidst and ever increasing volume of nationawide airplay and what seems like the support of half of London. One singles does not a superstar make, but these guys will be more than a little happy with this giant leap.

2. Jason DeRulo – Ridin Solo (last week – 11) – SONG OF THE WEEK!

A big rise for Jason DeRulo, who seems to overloaded with autotuned, everready goodness that he might well turn out to be a permanent resident on the UK singles charts. ”Ridin Solo’ has been on the charts 11 weeks now, and has proven – like many of his other tracks – to be a slow burner. The number two position marks it’s peak so far.

3.  Usher featuring Will.I.Am – OMG (last week – 2)

Another spurt of autotuned, dance-floor ready goodness comes from Usher,. featuring Black Eyed Peas every-busy hip-hop star. Will.I.Am lights up this track, though Usher will take the plaudits, with this song marking him as the first artist to get a number one in three consecutive decades (including the 10s), a sure sign of his impressive popularity these days. You can download Usher’s entire past in Usher Ringtone form, here.

4. Edward Maya featuring Vika Jugalina – Stereo Love (new entry)

A huge star in Romania, Edward Maya built his international house and techno following through the Internet, grabbing in excess of 40 million YouTube views of this particular song in just 9 months. It’s already proved a huge hit across Europe, with the UK a little slow to get in the act – this song peaked elsewhere at the end of last year. It’s sure to make you’re hips move.

5. Aggro Santos feat. Kimberly Wyatt – Candy (last week – 5)

Produced by essential dance producer Rob Orton and featuring a former Pussycat Doll, British-Brazilian starlet Aggro Santos clearly went all out to grab a huge smash with his first ever single. Peaking inside the top five – and staying there for a second week – is no mean feat for a debut effort like this. We’re eagerly awaiting the follow up ‘Saint Or Sinner’.

UK Albums Chart:

1. Keane – Night Train (new entry)

A fourth consecutive number one for soft rockers Keane, with the EP Night Train ghetting critically slated in all the trendy indie magazines, but selling by the bucketlaod nonetheless. This effort is only 30 minutes or so long, and features the single ‘Stop For A Minute‘, as well as seven other fresh tracks from the baby-faced stars. Download keane ringtones here.

2. Plan B – The Defamation of Strickland Banks (last week – 2)

We wouldnt be surprised to see this particular effort hang around teh album charts for some time, with Plan B’s change of musical direction going down an absolute storm with… well, pretty much everyone. This is a subtle and enticing piece of angry guitar music that explores the depths of Plan B’s psyche in a way few could have predicted. Give it a whirl.

3.  Lady Gaga – The Remix (new entry)

Not content with practically owning the UK charts for the past few months with her straight up album, Lady Gaga’s back to wow us with a remix effort, too. This one is a touch disappointing in that many of the songs appear numerous times in different guises, yet if you’re a big fan, this does twist the tracks into true club dance floor fillers, rather than pre going out pop.

4. Lady Gaga – Fame (last week – 5)

No, this isn’t a mistake, Gaga really does occupy the 3rd and fourth position, amazing given this particular effort came out 70 weeks ago, which makes it the album equivalent of that Bryan Adams effort way back when. Haven’t heard it yet? You must be living under a rock… You’ll find plenty of The Fame ringtones here.

5. The National – High Violet (new entry)

Darlings of the indie underground this week, The National take on a similar sound to the higihly critically acclaimed Interpol, and are not even slightly short of rave reviews for this effort. As an up and coming name, this band has such an undergruond following that their alt-hit scheme can hardly fail.Download The National ringtones here.
